Alba is a soft, hypoallergenic silicone strip that holds your lips gently closed while you sleep, so you breathe through your nose instead of your mouth for the full night.
That one change does four things:
Your mouth stays wet. An open mouth dries out for eight hours straight. Saliva is what neutralizes acid and protects your enamel — when it evaporates all night, that protection is switched off all night.
Your nose does its job. Your sinuses produce nitric oxide continuously. Breathing through your nose carries it into your lungs, where it supports oxygen uptake. Breathing through your mouth bypasses your sinuses entirely and simply never collects it.

Will I be able to breathe?

Will it hurt my skin coming off?
Alba uses a medical-grade silicone adhesive rather than acrylic. Acrylic is the category standard because it grips through facial hair, but it grips skin the same way — which is why irritation and painful removal are the most common complaints about the market leader. Silicone holds enough to stay on all night and releases without pulling. If your skin is thinner than it was, or you use retinol, this is the difference that matters.
Will it stop my snoring?
It depends on why you snore. If your snoring is driven by mouth breathing and your tongue falling back, keeping your mouth closed addresses the mechanism directly. If your snoring is driven by nasal obstruction or by sleep apnea, it won't — and you should read the "Is Alba For Me?" section above before ordering. We'd rather be straight with you than promise you something we can't know.
How long before I notice anything?
Dry mouth is usually the first thing to change, often the first morning. Snoring takes longer — nasal breathing takes roughly one to two weeks to stop feeling unfamiliar, which is why we ship 90 nights instead of 30.
What if my nose feels blocked with it on?
That's what the nasal dilator in the Ritual box is for. If your nasal passage is even slightly restricted, taping your mouth is uncomfortable and you'll quit on night two. The dilator isn't an accessory — it's the reason the tape works.
Can I use it with a CPAP?
